Kendo
Nov0
Banzai!
Personal project is landing here. It was a shoot with Tarl, kenshi [swordsman] from Australia. He’s been practicing kendo for more than 15 years.
Personally, I love the outfit, sorry… armor. So full of details, awesome craftsmanship.
Fun shoot I have to say. Being skilled kenshi and Star Wars fan- Tarl was pulling some hilarious stuff. More shoots like this please!
Soon, Tarl’s portraits are coming.
Light: two bowens heads either side, some reflector fill. On B/W picture heads are really close, thus the contrast.
Gig photography
Sep0
I’ve found this one browsing through my photo library.
Czarno -czarni and Big Cyc was playing for The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity in Edinburgh in december last year.
Good concert with a lot of positive energy. Glad to be there, especially when you have all access pass.
Light: no flash. Shooting on iso800/f2.8 on about 1/60-1/50.
Emma & Gavin!
Aug4
All the best for Emma and Gavin! They are a couple full of positive energy and happiness.
Photographing their wedding was a true pleasure. I was doing the reportage bit, while Paul did classic photos.

Light:1st- flash fill, 3rd- flash bounced off white ceiling.
Sunday Berries
Aug3
Love Blueberries. With cream and sugar is oh-my-God dessert.
Didn’t had much to do this Sunday evening, so from my boredom this picture happened.
You really think, just because you’re at home, you can’t make a nice photo?
Table full of boxes as flags, one light on background [0.5 meter away]to give a nice halo. Strobe in umbrela shoot-through on right,Lastolite reflector left.G
Guy I know.
Aug5
You think you know people.
When they are standing there- in front of a big eye, which you have instead of your face; with all that photoshoot buzz and lights- people change.
I know Michael for about a year now. He’s a nice guy with always something ironic on tip of his tongue. Happy, with attitude. But in front of a lens he’s someone completely different.
As you can see on the pictures – sensual and fragile side comes out. I didn’t have to tell him a thing.
Is this acting or it’s deep emotion?

Light: one strobe, umbrella and reflector involved. PS: not too much, big stain on the wall.
Valentina!
Aug4
Valentina- half Peruvian, half Scottish. Future model- that’s for sure. Natural and happy.

Ligh- bowens on background and strobe in umbrela, no fill. No PS.
Are you Comfy?
Jul0
As promised- more of amaizing Comfort.
This was a Bling-bling session. We wanted to make it a little more glamorous than the last one. Comfort was doing million poses a minute and we had an amazing laugh. Working in environment like this is a pleasure. Thanks goes to Aga for help.

Light: background one bowens, and strip softboxes both sides. Some PS involved.
Miss K’s eight month
Jul0
I love those assignments- very nice people, relaxed, that cooperate [read: do what I say].
We’ve had really good time and I think it shows on the photos.
Thanks miss M for help with this one.
Room was quite small with white walls and ceiling, which helped to achieve look of K wrapped in light.
Silhouette pictures was a problem coz light was bouncing everywhere, but we’ve managed.
Pictures one and two shows difference in ending media – No1 is for big canvas [contrast and color] and no2 for photo paper[soft].
Light: No1 and no2 – umbrella shoot through in front and bouncer on right. No3 umbrella left and small strobe background pattern [looks like wings] No4 is strobe half power in front, through bed sheet.
Dee nude
Jul0
Idea behind Dee’s shot was to show woman nudity in a simplest way possible. Simple and delicate, like nude skin itself.
Beautiful yet minimalistic form almost talk to us about it’s fragile nature.
Light couldn’t be more simple – all area covered in black. Camera left is a bare Bowens head behind two black panels with no more than 10cm distance between them- that gave only thin strip of light. No PS except dodge/burn.
Top place, top food.
Jul4
One of the best restaurants in Edinburgh. Royal Yaht Brittania Head Chef’s “Oloroso”.Best chips in town and magnificent view. From one side – the Castle, from another -Firth of Forth. Anyway. Is it hard to shoot there? No. Came day earlier, asked a manager. He said: no problem. As some say: If you not ask- you will never know.
This is Mariusz, nice guy and best graphic designer I know. [Witty Fox]
I’ve wanted to show that for him office is everywhere he wants, and doesn’t have to work between claustrophobic four walls like rest of folk.
This was part of college’s assignment – environmental portrait.
Radio triggered strobe is firing on a white sheet of paper blue tagged to the laptop screen. Background two stops down and some dodging and burning in PS.
