Tarl again. with less armor

Second shoot with Australian-Tarl.
Tattoos are based on Lord of the Rings and Star Wars universes and symbolics.
One side of the armor is medieval, other – bio-mechanic. Amazing stuff.

Tarl wants to go into acting/modeling business, and he needed some portfolio pictures.
Tarl loved those ones and I have to admit – I also like them.
Pictures, like his tattoos are a statement. Strong, but not too heavy.
You can see what 15 years of kendo and gym did to his body – he should be in some gym/active body advertisements.

Panels, panels, panels. Dean Collins style sexy panels.

Banzai!
Personal project is landing here. It was a shoot with Tarl, kenshi [swordsman] from Australia. He’s been practicing kendo for more than 15 years.
Personally, I love the outfit, sorry… armor. So full of details, awesome craftsmanship.
Fun shoot I have to say. Being skilled kenshi and Star Wars fan- Tarl was pulling some hilarious stuff. More shoots like this please!
Soon, Tarl’s portraits are coming.

Light: two bowens heads either side, some reflector fill. On B/W picture heads are really close, thus the contrast.

Little of sport photography this time. College assignment which was pain in the back side have turned into quite good pictures.

Have to say: golf was the hardest to shoot- can’t be too close, walk or make noise when they swing.
And believe me – even with 3 frames per second you cant catch club in mid-air. I think it’s time for a camera upgrade.

Light:all natural. Only journalism level of Photoshop [levels, curves, cropping]

By popular demand I gave you Michael. Again!

Amazing shoot! North Berwick at dusk is just magical. We went there with certain pictures in heads. It’s bad to visualize some may say. But this time- it was a huge success.
Sunset is not something you can control. With no time to waste, my slow driving is the reason, we’ve just fired away. Poses, angles, light- just worked. Sweet. Hope to have more shoots like this one. Big thanks to Michael for astonishing modelling Maria for assisting.

Data: f4.0, iso 200, 24mm, 1/250s | Light: main: two strobes on 1/4 power [recycle time needed] shoot through 12in diffuser, back: sun at sunset.
Note: We’ve had six hands on this shoot- and an extra pair will be needed in the future – reflector to bounce strobes on shadow side would be ideal.

I’ve found this one browsing through my photo library.
Czarno -czarni and Big Cyc was playing for The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity in Edinburgh in december last year.
Good concert with a lot of positive energy. Glad to be there, especially when you have all access  pass.

All the best for Emma and Gavin! They are a couple full of positive energy and happiness.
Photographing their wedding was a true pleasure. I was doing the reportage bit, while Paul did classic photos.

Light:1st- flash fill, 3rd- flash bounced off white ceiling.

Love Blueberries. With cream and sugar is oh-my-God dessert.
Didn’t had much to do this Sunday evening, so from my boredom this picture happened.
You really think, just because you’re at home, you can’t make a nice photo?

Table full of boxes as flags, one light on background [0.5 meter away]to give a nice halo. Strobe in umbrela shoot-through on right,Lastolite reflector left.G

Guy I know.

You think you know people.
When they are standing there- in front of a big eye, which you have instead of your face; with all that photoshoot buzz and lights- people change.
I know Michael for about a year now. He’s a nice guy with always something ironic on tip of his tongue. Happy, with attitude. But in front of a lens he’s someone completely different.
As you can see on the pictures – sensual and fragile side comes out. I didn’t have to tell him a thing.
Is this acting or it’s deep emotion?

Light: one strobe, umbrella and reflector involved. PS: not too much, big stain on the wall.
